Services

The first phase of our efforts will focus on the educational needs of the children in North-Kivu, Congo-DRC. Our volunteers in partnership with NGO Union of Good Samaritans for Development  and the Evangelical Free church of Africa will identify students in grades 1 through university who are meritorious and economically disadvantaged. We will then use donations to provide  school fees and education items such as school supplies, uniforms, textbooks and literature. We also want to teach how to read  and how to write the analphabet adults passed the school age in the vocational training centre.

Help build a vocational training centre

There is no vocational training centre in Goma. Students who drop off school for lack of school fees have no place to go in education. Those who get the state Certificate (High school diploma) but failed to go to university  and college get stuck in their lives. They need to access to a vocational training centre.

We want to build a training Centre in Goma. This Vocational training  centre will offer courses listed below will also take place in the same building. English Training Center leading to TOEFL will also be part of the building. This will be located in the town of Goma, Congo-DRC. Contribute by donating something here.  Sponsor a youth who passed school age to get vocational training in:

(1) Dress making

(2) Carpentry

(3) Welding

(4) Building

(5) Agriculture and Breeding (Farmimg)

(6) Language- English- leading to TOEFL. In partnership with UGSD we want  the Goma Samaritan Centre to be a TOEFL testing centre

(7) Servants of God through Bible study

(8) Driving

(9) computer training

(10) Electrician

(11) AUto repair

To sponsor a youth donate or contact SWB  at INFO@SWBSO.ORG  .

In co-operative partnerships with the Evangelical Free Church of Africa and the Union of Good Samaritans for Development , SWB has a plan to build a Community medical clinic, a community primary school and a community secondary school in Goma/Mugunga. This school would enrol the underprivileged children.

The Community Medical Clinic would have a modern equipment. In the town of Goma there is no sound laboratory for advanced tests. Some samples are sent to Kigali. This would alleviate the sanitary living conditions there.

Scholarships

SWB is currently providing  scholarships to 13 students. SWB wants to increase the sponsorships to 50 students in North-Kivu for the academic year 2010-2011. We want to raise $ 5000 . Please Contribute by donating here
